Katie is an Equestrian Sports Performance Specialist and Founder of EquiFit-uk
Having worked with riders as an Equestrian coach for over 10 years Katie likes to work specifically on improving the position, fitness and function of riding athletes to enable riders to work in a better partnership with their horses.
Katie has a degree in BSc (Honors) Human and Equine Sport Performance, which enabled her to focus on her interest in the rider as an athlete. It was here Katie gained her expertise on rider fitness and performance, posture analysis, rider nutrition, fitness testing and sports psychology which all enable her to analyse the rider and their needs to function and perform successfully. Katie is currently undertaking more extensive research in the area of Rider Fitness with the intention of publishing a PhD in her subject.
After graduating Katie further achieved Level 2 Fitness Instructors Qualification & Level 2 Circuit Instructor, which has enables her to lead group exercise classes aimed specifically at educating the rider on fitness and position awareness. Katie is also a fully qualified BHS Accredited Coach having her BHSAI and her UKCC Level 2 in coaching. Having ridden all of her life Katie has competed in most disciplines, including affiliated level in dressage and show jumping. She has also attended several national championships as a team member and individually.
